Local Calls

--> Both Source and Destination IP Phones are connected to same call processing server or voice gateway.

--> Call is carried over the private network.

--> Within LAN.

--> No minute per cost for the call.

On Net Calls

--> Both Source and Destination IP Phones are connected to more than one call processing server or voice gateway.

--> Call is carried over the private network.

--> Within WAN.

--> No minute per cost for the call.

Off Net Calls

--> Both Source and Destination IP Phones are connected on different networks but there is no IP WAN connectivity between them.

--> Call is carried over the PSTN network.

--> Access Codes are used to signal the voice gateway to make voice calls.

--> The most common access code used is number 9.

--> There is minute per cost for the call.
