--> A device pack allows you to configure new IP Phone types to Cisco Unified Communication Manager.
--> A device pack also allows you to upgrade the software and related configuration files which are needed to enable particular features on Cisco IP Phones.
--> Device packages are available from the Cisco Unified Communications Manager software download page.
--> We need to install the device package in all of CUCM servers such as the publisher server and the TFTP server and Subscriber Server.
--> A cluster Wide reboot is required when applying new device package to the CUCM of versions 11.0 and below.
--> A cluster-wide reboot is not required when you apply a device package to update existing firmware or configuration on CUCM.
--> A cluster-wide reboot is not required when applying new device package or updating the existing firmware to the CUCM of versions 11.5 and later.
--> After you apply the device pack, do the following in Cisco Unified Communications Manager:
i) Restart the Cisco Tomcat service on all nodes.
ii) Restart Cisco TFTP on all servers where this service is running.
iii) Restart Cisco CallManager on the Publisher. If you’re not running the Cisco CallManager service on the Publisher, you can skip this step.
