--> Call Pickup allows you to answer another ringing phone in the organization from your phone.
--> When a member of the group receives a call and is not available to answer it, any other member of the group can pick up the call from his own phone by using the PickUp softkey.
--> Call Pickup can be done by pressing Pickup softkey when another phone is ringing.
--> The call is automatically transferred to your phone when you press Pickup softkey on your phone.
--> It is better to create call pickup groups as there could be many phones ringing at the same time.
--> Based on the softkey used in IP Phones, the users can answer ringing IP Phones in the same group or other groups.
--> Call Pickup Groups are divided into three pickup groups,
i) Directed Pickup--> User can answer other ringing phones by pressing Pickup Softkey and dialing the DN number of the phone which is ringing.
ii) Local Pickup --> User can answer other ringing phones in the same group by pressing GPickup Softkey and dialing the *.
iii) Other Group Pickup --> User can answer other ringing phones in the different group by pressing GPickup Softkey and dialing the other group number.
--> If multiple IP Phones are ringing at the same time then CME or CUCM answers the oldest ringing IP Phone.
--> By default users can pick up other ringing phones by using directed pickup method even though the calling device is not assigned to any group.
--> We can disable this feature by using the command no service directed-pickup under telephony-service configuration mode.
