Traffic Processing in LTM?

i) A client starts by initiating traffic to the virtual server configured on F5 LTM.

ii) F5 LTM completes TCP three-way handshake with the client.

iii) F5 LTM then translates the destination IP address based on load balancing method.

iv) If Secure NAT is also configured then F5 LTM translates the source IP address also.

v) F5 LTM performs TCP three-way handshake with the selected server on behalf of the client.

vi) F5 LTM receives the traffic back from the server and it changes the source IP address back to Virtual IP address.

vii) F5 LTM also changes the destination IP address back to the original client IP address.
