--> Work Group Bridges (WGB) is a mode that can be configured on Autonomous Access Point.
--> Work Group Bridges (WGB) APs are used to relay traffic from the devices that do not have wireless capabilities to the wireless network.
--> For example, if you need to provide wireless connectivity for a group of network printers, you can connect the printers to a hub or to a switch, connect the hub or switch to the access point Ethernet port, and configure the access point as a workgroup bridge.
--> Work Group Bridges (WGB) are used with medical systems as these systems do not have an integrated wireless NIC option.
--> Work Group Bridges (WGB) can connect to autonomous AP or Lightweight AP as a wireless client.
--> In workgroup bridge mode, An Access Point associates to another access point as a client and provides a network connection for the devices that are connected to its Ethernet port.
--> If your access point has two radios, either the 2.4-GHz radio or the 5-GHz radio can function in workgroup bridge mode.
--> Work Group Bridge role can be configured either in the 2.4-GHz radio or the 5-GHz radio interface by using the command “station-role workgroup-bridge“.
--> This allows Work Group Bridge AP to act as a client to the Autonomous or Light Weight AP where it is associated.
Configuration:
hostname Canteen
!
dot11 ssid Canteen
authentication open
!
interface Dot11Radio1
ssid WGB
